The therapeutic process will look different from person to person. Some might start in order to deal with a specific or unexpected even in their life, such as a job loss or divorce. Others choose therapy to help manage long standing issues from the past that continue to affect their thoughts and behavior patterns. Many clients find it beneficial to see a counselor to help them explore or develop parts of their life that they are not entirely satisfied with.
No matter the reason, working with a counselor in a supportive environment can help you discover new strategies, coping skills, resolve conflicts, and guide yourself through future challenges. Therapy gives you a safe space to show up authentically.
-
You can expect your counselor to take the time to understand who you are, what is bringing you in for therapy, and the direction you’d like therapy to guide you.
Before your first session, you will fill out on online questionnaire to help your therapist gain a deeper understanding of your concerns, goals, and needs. This will help guide the questions that are asked.
Ultimately, it will be a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share and start working to help you feel better.

Weekly or every other week for 50-55 minutes. In the beginning it works best to meet weekly to help build the relationship, establish trust, and start seeing progress. Together we will reassess and potentially decrease the frequency of sessions based on your needs. Just like any topic, we can talk about this at any stage in the therapy process.
-
Many clients find that they have reached their goals in 4-6 months and no longer require ongoing sessions. We also see clients who chose to stay in therapy much longer as they have seen improvements and really enjoy having a place to process their thoughts/feelings and have ongoing support on a regular basis. Your therapist and you will regularly check in on your progress and discuss your continued care.

Yes, we are able to accept insurance and are in network with Premera, Regence, and BCBS.
For most other insurance, we are considered an out of network provider. This means that most clients who have insurance are eligible to be reimbursed a significant portion of the fee. We will collect the full fee on the day of service, using your credit card or HSA card on file, and provide a receipt (also known as superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement that will come directly to you.
Please understand that you are responsible for 100% of any fees that insurance does not cover including deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and late cancelation/no show fees at the times of service and will be charged to the credit card on file.
Please note that our interns do not take insurance, however they are able to accept clients on a sliding scale ($55-70 per session).

Insurance companies require a diagnosis for billing purposes, have rights to your therapy notes, and at times determine how many sessions they will allow us. They can also decide to no longer cover sessions based on their interpretation of your progress. Please let us know if you prefer to pay out of pocket instead of using insurance.
-
We have busy lives, and we understand that at some point you may need to cancel an appointment. We do require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of a cancellation. You are responsible for payment for your session in full when cancellations are received less than 48 hours in advance. We are not able to bill your insurance for missed sessions.

A Good Faith Estimate is an estimated cost of services that can be provided before we start working together.
Under the law, health care provides need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical service, including mental health therapy services. Please inform us if you do not have insurance or don’t plan to use insurance, and you will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate.
